Century Barn Weddings

I first met with Helena and Steve at their family property for their engagement session. The property, overlooking Rice Lake was beautiful, it had everything a photographer could wish for. We discussed their vision for the engagement shoot and wedding. I feel it’s very important to spend time with couples before bringing out my cameras; to get to know their style and find out more about them. We discussed different styles, they both liked the light and airy look and were happy to go a little atmospheric at times. The apple orchards on the property were perfect for the light and airy look. The lighting at the end of the shoot provided a more moody, cinematic style.

After the shoot, we checked out the location for the wedding which was also on the family grounds. I was really looking forward to the wedding and had lots of ideas to work with. The couple decided to have their wedding reception at Century Barn Weddings in Caven. A venue I am very familiar with. The day of the wedding had arrived. We started with bridal prep in the family home, followed by the arrival of the groom. Helena and Steve decided to have their first look before the ceremony giving them a chance to spend more of the day together and with family & friends. The soft speckled light in the apple orchards was perfect, after a little direction the couple was ready for their first big moment of the day.
